The houseboat trip rocked! We did a TON of cool stuff. On the way to Sheep Island , we relaxed on the roof of the houseboat in the wind. The roof of a houseboat is amazing by the way, the wind blows the almost fresh Delta-water smell in your face, which is extremely refreshing even if it is . . . the Delta. It was evening by the time we anchored at Sheep Island, so we spent some time in worship and then headed off to bed. In the morning we woke up in the crisp morning weather. I (Daniel) was woken up by people shouting. I sat up and looked around only to see that there was a tanker in the delta. I was doing really well during the night, but seeing as I couldn’t fall back asleep, I got up and started getting ready for the day. When everyone was up, we had our morning devotion then went off to breakfast. After breakfast the fun really got started. Me and some of my friends went on Mr. Niece's water ski boat and I attempted to wakeboard . . . funny story. I got up the first time, and not knowing what to do since I wasn't expecting to get up, I fell face first and got a huge mouthful of the Delta water. After attempting many more times (11, ya I know, pretty sad) I gave up. Maybe another time. After we got back we had some lunch and we went banana boating. An awesome thing to do. We returned after a few more rides on the banana boat. Once we were back, we jumped off the houseboat, went swimming and just hung out. Jeremy caught a fish (using a hot dog of all things as bait). On Saturday night we had small groups and picked some verses and songs for the whole group the next day and then sang some before going to bed. I (Ricky) really enjoyed I getting to know a couple of people better and meeting some new people. We were awakened by PD's beautiful singing of camp songs, had chapel and breakfast. After packing up and hanging out a little more, we headed back home. It was a great trip, and I got to know a lot of new people and at the same time got to grow closer to my old friends. The whole weekend was really chill and the trip was just a great time to relax and hang out.
