So here we are, Hume Lake, Day 3. It’s been a blast so far, but there’s still a lot more to come. In these past 24 hours, I think I’ve spent more time singing than I’ve spent sleeping. I wake up around 6:45 to get to the shower first then I’m on my way to Early Morning Worship, after that, there’s another hour or so of Chapel accompanied by more awesome worship. After Chapel, our teams assembled for Rec. and we once again sang our heads off for a few hours earning loads of Spirit Points. Later at evening chapel, the Hume Lake band, Campaign, lead us in absolutely amazing, rockin’ worship! I absolutely love looking around the chapel and seeing all the singing faces, hands lifted high, eyes closed, worrying about nothing but the Lord and the song. Every year, the worship up here at Hume Lake is intensely moving. Tonight to top it all off, Chris (the speaker) rocked our minds with an equally intense message about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego as they stood up to the frightening King Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 3). Chris asked us to stand up – to not bow to evil and sin – and put our lives in the hands of Jesus, just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did. Tonight we had eight St. Matt’s students stand and entrust their lives to the Lord. The things that God does in this place never cease to amaze me!
