Wednesday Night

Hume Lake is an amazing place. I just got back from the canyons away from camp with the Exodus rock climbing crew. I am just so in awe of God and all God has done and will continue to do. His creation is beautiful; all of it from the mountains and lake to the students worshipping in chapel. I feel my heart appreciating the little things in life more and noticing how special and unique all God’s hand has made. It was awesome to see fellow students accept Christ into their lives last night and to see the transformation in other students attitudes and perspectives from the beginning of the week. God is awesome, and God is working in our hearts and minds. Today, a group of students competed in the Biathlon for our recreation teams. There was a guy and a girl runner and a swimmer for each team. I ran and had a lot of fun in the run around the lake. Then we had chapel with a speaker named Allison who discussed ways for us to defend our faith to people who may ask us questions about Christianity and why we believe in Christ. After her talk we had a choice of six seminars to attend concerning various subjects. I chose to go to a seminar by Chris Brown (this week’s speaker) on Freedom and Forgiveness. Chris talked about how to work on feeling free from our pasts and lift up our sins and distresses to God. His main point was that our Heavenly Father is here for us always with open arms; we are His. After lunch 54 students from Saint Matthew played paintball and others went on hikes or rock climbing with Exodus. Free time was also a chance to read, relax, or sleep. I’m excited for Campaign, the worship band, and their concert tonight and to worship our amazing God.
